A Historic Meeting at Almaty Arena that Elevated the Spirit of the Nation within the Framework of SDG No. 13

February 28, 2026, became a special day for the residents of Almaty. On this day, the pride of the nation and Olympic champion Mikhail Shaidorov arrived at Almaty Arena to meet his fans. The event was significant not only for sports enthusiasts but also served as a powerful source of inspiration for university students.

Students of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Department of Mathematics of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, actively participated in the event under the guidance of Senior Curator of the Department of Mathematics Auzerkhan Gauhar and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature Ospan A.O. The future mathematicians proudly met the champion, waving the national flag of Kazakhstan in the arena. This moment strengthened the students’ patriotic spirit and clearly demonstrated that science and sports share common values — perseverance and diligence.

During the meeting, Mikhail Shaidorov spoke about the challenges of his Olympic journey, emphasizing the importance of consistent training and dedication to one’s goals. He encouraged young people to remain persistent in both education and sports to achieve high results. For the students of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, his words “systematic work is the key to great achievements” became a strong source of motivation.

The cultural program of the evening was also organized at a high level. Popular artists performed on stage, creating an uplifting atmosphere. The main headliner of the evening was Kairat Nurtas, who performed his well-known songs and filled the arena with celebration and joy. Starting from 12:00 p.m., free buses operated from the intersection of Satpayev and Baitursynov streets, allowing students and city residents to reach the venue conveniently.
