PROFESSIONAL WEEK – 2026 Hosts Expert Strategic Session on Academic Governance

From March 3 to 6, 2026, an expert strategic session titled “Academic Governance and Quality of Education: An Intensive for Leaders and Faculty” is being held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Faculty members of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism —
Aliyeva Zh.N., Abisheva Z.M., Momynov S.A., Tөkenova Zh.Zh., Adilbay B.S. — are taking part in the session.

During the session, participants discussed:

·        management of the educational process based on process management principles;

·        redesigning academic disciplines using GenAI tools;

·        implementation of dual education and micro-qualifications;

·        teaching ethics and conflict management;

·        issues related to shaping the university’s strategy and the system of research KPIs.

Within the practical tracks, faculty members actively worked on improving course syllabi and teaching materials, developing rubrics for criterion-based assessment, effectively applying GenAI tools, and establishing unified standards of academic governance.

As a result of the session, specific proposals and solutions were developed aimed at enhancing the quality of education, systematizing academic governance, and introducing modern educational models at the departmental level.

The Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism continues to actively participate in the process of professional transformation, supporting the university’s strategic development initiatives.
