On march 5, 2026, within the framework of PROFESSIONAL WEEK - 2026 at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, based on the outcomes of the expert strategic session entitled «Academic Governance and Quality of Education: Intensive Program for Managers and Teaching Staff», which was held from march 3 to 6, 2026, the department of customs, financial and environmental law of the faculty of law organized an intra-faculty expert strategic session for the teaching staff.
In this regard, the department of customs, financial and environmental law conducted an intra-faculty expert strategic session on the topic «The Use of ChatGPT, Copilot and Other Artificial Intelligence Tools in the Redesign of Academic Courses».
The session was opened by the head of the department, doctor of law, professor G.A. Kuanaliyeva, who introduced the participants to the objectives and tasks of the event.
The main purpose of the session was to modernize the educational process, improve the effectiveness of teaching through the redesign of course content, and share experience in the effective use of artificial intelligence tools in developing learning outcomes, syllabi, and assessment tasks.
During the session, the following areas were discussed:
- methodology for redesigning academic courses;
- opportunities for integrating ChatGPT, Copilot, and other artificial intelligence tools into the educational process;
- modern approaches to the development of syllabi, learning outcomes, and assessment tasks;
- practical cases aimed at improving the quality of education.
Within these areas, members of the department’s teaching staff - A.A. Yessekeyeva, G.K. Rasheva, G.T. Aigarinova, A.A. Kudaibergenov, and I.B. Shapkatova -delivered informative presentations and shared the experience they gained during the strategic session. In addition, participants discussed effective ways of applying artificial intelligence tools in the educational process.
The session was aimed at enhancing the professional competencies of the teaching staff, effectively integrating modern digital technologies into the educational process, and further improving the quality of education at the faculty.
