The I International Scientific Olympiad Successfully Concluded
From February 23 to 27, 2026, the Department of Economics of the Higher School of Economics and Business at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University jointly with Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service organized the I International Scientific Olympiad titled «Innovations as a Driver of Economic Growth».
The Olympiad brought together 25 teams from universities in Kazakhstan and abroad. Following the first round, 13 teams advanced to the second stage, where participants demonstrated their knowledge in economic theory, microeconomics, and macroeconomics by completing test tasks and solving economic problems.
According to the results of the Olympiad, the winners were determined as follows:
1st place – First Degree Diploma (1 team)
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Saylau Zhandaulet, Sabyrzhan Rysaldy, Mukan Yerkezhan, scientific supervisors: Daulieva G.R., Abilda S.K.
2nd place – Second Degree Diploma (2 teams)

2) Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service (Uzbekistan), Alimamatova Muslima, Mirzaakhmedov Mirzie, Ortikov Farmonboy, scientific supervisor: Artikov Z.S.
3rd place – Third Degree Diploma (3 teams)
1. Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov, Raisova Melissa, Kairatuly Kanat, scientific supervisors: Oralova S.Sh., Zhanysbaeva S.B.
2. META (Management, Engineering, Technology and Analytics University), Yeshimova Nazym, Musina Rufina, Smagul Zhuldyz, scientific supervisor: Kenzhebaeva Z.S.
3. Ablai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, Barlybek Balzhan, Daurenova Aiymzhan, Murat Arailym, scientific supervisor: Mynzhanova G.T.
All participants received certificates, while the winners were awarded diplomas.
The Olympiad became an important platform for enhancing students’ professional competencies, developing their research potential, and strengthening international academic cooperation.
