”From the National Kurultai to the Constitutional Kurultai” was held for students of Satbayev University

On March 5, 2026, a ceremonial meeting titled ”From the National Kurultai to the Constitutional Kurultai” was held for students of Satbayev University. The event was aimed at explaining the processes of political modernization in the country and clarifying the essence of constitutional reforms.

The purpose of the event was to discuss issues related to the UN Sustainable Development Goal 16 – “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions”, as well as to explain the significance of the constitutional reforms raised by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during the National Kurultai.

During the event, representatives of the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University delivered presentations. The Deputy Head of the Department for Research and International Relations, PhD Gulnur Koishynkyzy Rasheva, highlighted the role and importance of the referendum institution in public life. Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of the Department for Academic, Methodological and Educational Affairs, Ainash Akimsalovna Yessekeeva, elaborated on the constitutional mechanisms for protecting citizens’ rights and freedoms.

In addition, a discussion session was organized among students and participants, during which opinions were exchanged on the impact of constitutional reforms on the development of society.
