SDG 5. Gender Equality

19 february, 2026

On February 19, an event dedicated to Sustainable Development Goal 5 — “Gender Equality” — was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event was organized by first-year doctoral students of the program “Foreign Philology (Western Languages)” — Zhemileva Madina Maratovna and Kaya Raushan Alimkadirovna — under the supervision of Associate Professor Tayeva Roza Massimkanovna.

The event began with a screening of a social video highlighting the impact of gender stereotypes on the formation of social opportunities, followed by an analytical discussion involving master’s students.

A presentation entitled “Gender Equality in Modern Society: Past and Present” was delivered by Musa Aigerim and Daurenbayeva Aida, who analyzed the historical development of gender roles and their transformation in contemporary society.

The topic “Gender Equality in Education” was presented by Bilal Zere and Aitzhan Balzhan, emphasizing the importance of equal access to education and academic opportunities as a key condition for sustainable development.

The event was conducted in the format of an open academic dialogue and contributed to the development of professional reflection among master’s students on issues of gender policy and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in modern society.
