The Legacy of Academician Umirbek Dzholdasbekov
On March 2, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Library hosted a significant event — a scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding scientist, statesman, and academician Umirbek Aryslanovich Dzholdasbekov. As the founder of the national school of robotics and the theory of mechanisms and machines, he left an indelible mark on the history of KazNU, embodying the ideas of progress and innovation.
The anniversary event was attended by the university leadership, leading scientists of the country, students of the academician, and representatives of the academic community. A special place among the participants was held by the faculty members of the Department of Language and General Education Preparation for Foreigners. Their presence underscores the university's commitment to the principles of SDG 4 (Quality Education): preserving the continuity of generations and transmitting rich scientific experience are the foundations of modern pedagogy.
For the teaching staff, participating in such meetings is of immense importance. It is not only a tribute to the great scientist but also an opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange. For our department, which works with international students at the Faculty of Pre-university Education, Academician Dzholdasbekov stands as a benchmark of Kazakhstan's intellectual potential. Presenting his achievements to international students promotes the values of SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), demonstrating the development of domestic innovation and engineering thought on a global scale.
The memory of the great academician continues to live through new scientific projects and international cooperation. Such events strengthen the academic environment, inspiring young researchers to achieve new heights for the future of the country.
