From Student to Professional: A Meeting with Successful Graduates of the Zoology Department

On March 12 at 12:00 PM, in Room 3 (Zoo), within the framework of the Open Day of the Department of Zoology, a meeting with distinguished alumni will be held at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The alumni will share their professional experience, career paths, and discuss opportunities for young biologists.

First-year students from all specialties are invited, including Biology, Zoology, Genetics, Biomedicine, and Biotechnology.

Speakers

Kazhym Zhumaliyev – President of the Tabiğat Association, zoologist–game manager, graduate of the Faculty of Biology of KazGU.

• Holds two higher education degrees: in Biology (Department of Zoology, KazGU) and Economics.

• Founder and head of several companies engaged in the development and financing of hunting management in Kazakhstan;

• Blogger and promoter of rational nature use.

• Member of Safari Club International (since 2008);

• Recipient of the title “Master of Mountain Hunting” from the Russian Mountain Hunters Club (2016);

• Member of the Public Council of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Commission on Wildlife and Forestry).

Adam Kapanov – writer, journalist, director, philanthropist, Candidate of Biological Sciences, graduate of the Faculty of Biology of KazGU (1984).

• Member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan;

• Member of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan;

• Member of the Kazakhstan National Committee of the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Programme;

• Owner of two large companies related to animal health, the zoo industry, and biological safety;

• Author of popular science books about nature and wildlife: Children of the Sky, Children of the Earth, Lords of the Land, Children of Water, Masters of the Planet, Children of the Sun, and Children of the Rain.
