Discussion on Improving Course Educational and Methodological Complex (CEMC) Using GenAI Tools
Today, at the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a departmental meeting was held as part of academic and methodological work, dedicated to the effective use of GenAI tools in the educational process.

During the meeting, the possibilities of applying artificial intelligence-based tools (GenAI) to improve the quality of the educational process without increasing the professional workload of instructors were thoroughly discussed.
The main objective of the meeting was to develop the professional skills and competencies of instructors in the effective use of GenAI technologies in course design, assessment of learning outcomes, and improvement of teaching quality.
During the discussion, the following key issues were considered:

the place and significance of the discipline within the educational program;

the role of the syllabus as a tool for pedagogical and academic management;

improvement of assignments and assessment systems oriented toward learning outcomes;

adherence to the principles of academic integrity and responsible use of GenAI tools;

organization of effective feedback and communication with students in both offline and digital environments.
During the departmental meeting, the importance of using GenAI tools in improving educational and methodological documentation, developing learning materials, and forming modern approaches to assessing students’ knowledge was emphasized.
