SDG 4: "Quality Education" Report on the Research Internship for Master’s Students

From March 3 to March 17, 2026, a research internship was held at the Department of Turkology and Theory of Language of the Faculty of Philology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University for Master's students of the educational program "7M01704 — Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages". This event was a demonstration of high-level academic cooperation aimed at implementing the UN SDG 4: "Quality Education".

At the opening ceremony of the internship, the Head of the Department, R.A. Avakova, delivered a speech; Professor G.B. Madieva familiarized the students with the work plan and organized an excursion to the university museum and library. As part of the two-week program, the Master's students underwent intensive training in the following areas:

● Scientific and Methodological Training: participation in seminars on working with electronic databases and mastering Action Research methods.

● Academic Writing: learning to write the introduction of a scientific article using the CARS model and preparing a bibliographic review on Master's thesis topics.

● Practical Sessions: attending open lectures on "Face negotiation theory" within the subject "Pragmatics in Foreign Language Teaching" and discussing modern aspects of foreign language education.

At the end of the internship, the students submitted an analytical report on the work performed and defended their draft articles. Participants who successfully completed the program were awarded official certificates from Al-Farabi KazNU. Furthermore, within the framework of close ties between our university and SDU University, high-level conditions were created for the bilateral exchange of experience among Master's students.
