Educational Outreach Event by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University PhD Students within SDG 11: Distribution of Abai’s “Words of Edification” in Almaty

On March 12, 2026, PhD students of the 2nd year of the Religious Studies program at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University conducted an educational outreach event in the city of Almaty.

The event was organized under the supervision of Doctor of Philosophy, Professor N.Zh. Baitenova; Candidate of Legal Sciences, Professor K.M. Bishmanov; Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor Zh.U. Kantarbayeva; and Acting Professor M.R. Baltymova.

The activity was carried out within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 11 – “Sustainable Cities and Communities.” During the event, copies of “The Words of Edification” by Abai Kunanbayev were distributed among residents of the city in Kazakh and Russian languages. In total, 50 books were distributed.

The purpose of the initiative was to promote Abai’s spiritual heritage, strengthen cultural values, and increase public interest in the moral and humanistic ideas of the great Kazakh thinker.
