Students of the University of Tokyo visited the Nomad Ethnic Centre as part of the Winter School of the Department of Far Eastern Studies at KazNU

    On Wednesday, students from the University of Tokyo, who are currently in Kazakhstan as part of an academic exchange program, visited the Nomad Ethnic Centre in Almaty to learn more about traditional Kazakh culture and the nomadic way of life.

    During the visit, the students had the opportunity to see a traditional Kazakh yurt, the dwelling used by nomadic communities. They also learned more about traditional customs, crafts, and everyday life that played an important role in the history of Kazakhstan.

    The students showed great interest in the traditional household items and asked questions about different aspects of Kazakh culture. They were particularly interested in the structure and decoration of the yurt, as well as the traditional ornaments used in Kazakh homes.

    The visit allowed the students to gain a deeper understanding of the nomadic lifestyle and the cultural traditions of the Kazakh people.
