Today, the China–Central Asia Publishing Center was officially opened at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, creating a new platform for scientific, educational, and cultural cooperation between China and the countries of Central Asia.
The ceremony was opened by Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev, who emphasized the importance of the center for expanding academic exchange and joint publishing initiatives.
Su Fangqiu, the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Almaty, also delivered remarks, noting the symbolic significance of launching such an initiative in a region historically connected to the Silk Road. According to him, education, research, and books play a key role in building deeper mutual understanding between nations.
A video greeting was delivered by a representative of China International Communications Group, one of China’s leading organizations for publishing and distributing literature in foreign languages.
Cai Wei, Vice President of Xi’an Jiaotong University, also addressed the audience, highlighting the growing cooperation with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and expressing confidence that the new center will become an important platform for joint academic and publishing initiatives.
The establishment of the center aims to promote translation projects, academic publications, and stronger intellectual ties between China and the countries of Central Asia.
