XX contest of oratory on Japanese language among the Central Asian countries was held in KazNU
April 30, 2016 on the basis of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University there was held the 20th Central Asian contest of oratory on Japanese language. 17 participants attended it from 5 countries of Central Asia: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Ichiro Kawabata, the Ambassador of Japan in Kazakhstan, and Burkitbayev Muhambetkali Myrzabaevich, the First Vice Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University made a welcoming speech in this contest.
The contest was organized by the Association of Japanese Language Teachers in Kazakhstan, Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with the support of the Japan Association in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Association of Japanese businessmen in Kazakhstan, the Kazakh-Japanese center for human resource development and the Japan Foundation.
According to the results of the competition, the 1st place was taken by students from Uzbekistan, the second place was taken by students from Kyrgyzstan, the 3rd place was also given to participants from Uzbekistan, and the 4th, 5th places were taken by students from Kazakhstan.
This competition brings together many countries with their profound interest in Japan and Japanese language as well as Japanese culture. In this competition, students showed their skills in Japanese language, and could demonstrate all their knowledge gained in their educational institutions. The competition encourages students to further intensified preparation and the desire to show themselves on the stage. Contest of oratory on Japanese language is a huge incentive for the study of the Japanese language.
