Celebration of Nauryz in a new format

The concept of "Nauryznam", which assumes a new format for celebrating Nauryz for ten days (from March 14 to March 23), was proposed by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The initiative was announced in early 2024 in order to strengthen the national code and cultural values.

During the celebration of the decade of Nauryznam, teachers of the Department of Language and General Education Training for Foreigners hold curatorial hours, round tables and other educational events where they tell students from abroad about one of the main holidays of Kazakhstan. After all, it is on the days when Spring comes that the Nauryz renewal holiday, expected by all, is celebrated.

It is difficult to overestimate the popularization of this holiday: it is on these days that the culture and traditions of our people, which have their roots in ancient times, are fully demonstrated. It should be emphasized that foreign youth are sincerely interested in everything related to the heritage of the nomads. As a result of such events, young people will learn the meaning and great cultural significance of Nauryz.

Foreign students will learn with great interest about the history of the origin, traditions of celebration in different countries and, of course, about the specifics of events dedicated to Nauryz held in our country. During the curatorial hour for foreign students, the teachers of the department outlined in detail the concept of "Nauryznam", when every day, starting from March 14 to March 23, is devoted to a specific topic. Day of Meetings, Day of Mercy and Kindness, Day of Culture and National Traditions, Day of Shanyrak, Day of National dress, Day of Renewal, Day of national Sports, Day of Solidarity, Day of the beginning of the year, Day of Purification. Each of these themes fills the celebration with a deep meaning aimed at popularizing national values, culture and traditions. Holding such events helps students to better understand the history, traditions and culture of Kazakhstan, which means they can adapt more harmoniously to our country.
