SDG-16 Students of the Faculty of Journalism at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University who are undertaking an internship in Turkey actively participated in an important socio-political campaign by casting their votes at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ankara.
Despite being abroad, the students demonstrated their civic responsibility and concern for the future of their country. The voting process was organized at the Kazakh Embassy in full compliance with legal requirements, with all necessary conditions provided.
Future journalists noted that taking part in the voting also contributed to their professional development. They had the opportunity to directly observe electoral culture, international practices, and the civic engagement of fellow citizens living abroad.
According to faculty representatives, such initiatives not only strengthen young people’s sense of civic responsibility but also enhance their professional understanding of socio-political processes. Moreover, students’ participation in significant national events while studying abroad highlights their respect for national values.
Thus, the young journalists on internship demonstrated their readiness to contribute to the country’s development by effectively combining academic learning with practical experience.
