SDG 5 – Gender Equality

17 march, 2026

Senior lecturer Amantai T.K. conducted a lesson with students of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, majoring in Mathematics, on the topic “SDG 5: Gender Equality.” The aim of the lesson was to develop students’ understanding of equality, respect, and equal opportunities for men and women in modern society.

During the lesson, students were divided into two teams. The first team created a poster on the topic “The Role of Men in the World,” highlighting the importance of men’s contributions to society, science, the economy, and family. The second team prepared a poster on the topic “The Role of Women in the World,” emphasizing women’s contributions to education, culture, science, and public life.

After presenting their work, students participated in an interactive activity. They were given a list of 100 professions and asked to decide who each profession suits more — a man or a woman. The professions were written on stickers and placed on the board.

As a result, the number of stickers assigned to men and women turned out to be equal. This helped students conclude that professional activity should not depend on gender, but rather on a person’s abilities, interests, and aspirations.

The lesson was conducted in an active and creative format, promoting critical thinking, teamwork skills, and respect for the principles of gender equality.
