«The Teachings of Al-Farabi and Their Influence on the Development of Science and Philosophy»

On March 18, 2026, a leadership lecture was held for second-year students of the educational program “Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” at the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The topic of the lecture was «The Teachings of Al-Farabi and Their Influence on the Development of Science and Philosophy».

During the lecture, the scientific heritage of the great thinker Abu Nasr Al-Farabi was comprehensively discussed, including his works in philosophy, logic, linguistics, music, and social thought. The students were introduced to Al-Farabi’s role in the systematization of sciences, his contribution to the development of both Eastern and Western scholarship, as well as his views on morality, knowledge, and reason. It was also emphasized that the scholar’s works remain significant for modern science and education.

During the lecture, students discussed the relevance of Al-Farabi’s scientific and philosophical ideas for contemporary society and shared their opinions. The main purpose of the leadership lecture was to familiarize young people with the heritage of the great thinker, to increase their interest in science, and to promote spiritual and intellectual values.

The lecture was delivered by K. Zh. Aidarbek, Associate Professor of the Department of Turkic Studies and Language Theory at the Faculty of Philology, Doctor of Philological Sciences. The event was held with active participation from the students and was organized at a high level as an informative and meaningful meeting.
