An informational meeting was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University dedicated to the presentation of the educational program “International Logistics,” implemented within the framework of a double degree program in cooperation with the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia named after Patrice Lumumba (https://www.rudn.ru/). The event was organized to familiarize students with the specifics of the program, its academic advantages, opportunities for international education, and the professional prospects available to graduates.

The participants were welcomed by Inna Vitalyevna Andronova, Dean of the Faculty of Economics at RUDN University, Head of the Department of International Economic Relations, Doctor of Economics, Professor. In her speech, she emphasized that the development of international logistics is one of the key areas in training specialists capable of effectively managing global supply chains, optimizing transport and logistics processes, and ensuring the sustainability of international goods flows in the context of globalization. According to her, the modern economy requires a new generation of professionals with competencies in logistics management, digital technologies, supply chain management, and international trade.

 

Particular interest among students was generated by the presentation of Daria Sergeevna Sokolan, Deputy Dean for International Relations of the Faculty of Economics at RUDN University named after Patrice Lumumba. She provided a detailed overview of the structure of the educational program, highlighting the advantages of the double degree format, the number of state-funded places, scholarship opportunities, and academic mobility options. It was noted that the program is aimed at training specialists capable of working in logistics companies, freight forwarding organizations, international corporations, as well as in institutions engaged in foreign economic activities and international transportation.

Special attention was paid to the practical orientation of the program. Students have the opportunity to study modern logistics technologies, supply chain management methods, international transport systems, customs regulation, digital logistics, and analytical tools. The program also includes participation in research projects, internships, and international educational initiatives.

 

Nursultan Beketovich Shurenov, Senior Lecturer and coordinator of the “International Logistics” program at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, presented the admission requirements, specifics of the academic process, and opportunities for academic development. In his speech, he elaborated on the application procedures, selection criteria, and the advantages of studying at the university, including a high level of academic training, student involvement in research activities, and participation in international exchange programs.

During the meeting, students demonstrated strong interest in the program and actively asked questions regarding its content, internship opportunities, participation in international projects, and future career prospects. The event served as an important platform for informing students about the opportunities offered by the “International Logistics” program and for strengthening academic cooperation between the universities.

 

The event was organized by Z.B. Akhmetova, Head of the Department of Business Technologies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and N.B. Shurenov, Senior Lecturer and coordinator of the “International Logistics” program at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The informational meeting became an important step in promoting international educational programs and developing academic partnership between leading universities of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.
