Nauryz Holiday – A Celebration of National Revival and Unity!

On March 18, 2026, in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals 3 “Good Health and Well-being” and 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities,” the Department of Economics organized an educational event titled “Nauryz – an Ancient Holiday of the Kazakh People,” with the participation of faculty students and lecturers.

The main purpose of the event was to introduce young people to the historical significance of Nauryz and to promote national traditions and cultural values.

During the event, comprehensive information was provided about the meaning of Nauryz as a “new day.” Students discussed the natural and scientific significance of the holiday, the characteristics of spring renewal during the period of the equinox, and highlighted their national identity.

As part of the celebration, special attention was given to traditional Kazakh customs, including the preparation of Nauryz kozhe, national games, and traditional rituals.

The event helped foster respect for nature among students, contributed to the preservation of national traditions, and inspired new beginnings.
