On 25.11, students of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology successfully defended their projects within the framework of the “Farabi Green Campus: Taza University” eco-forum and won a first-degree diploma along with a cash prize of 100,000 tenge. This initiative, presented under the organization of Ахтаева Нурсулу Зияхановна, Head of the Department of Botany and Agroecology, clearly demonstrated that university students actively participate in environmental projects and are capable of achieving concrete results in the fields of environmental protection and sustainable development.

The winning “Aralap” project is an important initiative aimed at landscaping the university campus, increasing green spaces, and improving environmental quality. The implementation of the project is expected not only to improve the ecological condition of the university area, but also to have a positive impact on the increase of pollinators, the growth of wild plant biodiversity, and the preservation of natural ecological balance. In addition, this initiative helps foster a culture of caring for nature within the university environment, improve students’ environmental literacy, and promote the principles of a green campus.

The project was developed by university students — Ғалымжанов Ислам, a doctoral student in Biology; Жанбасбаева Сымбат, a third-year student of the Department of Botany and Agroecology; and Нурханов Руслан, a master’s student in Geobotany. The project was highly appreciated for its scientific basis, practical significance, and environmental relevance, and was recognized as an effective initiative aimed at the systematic greening of the university campus.

The main feature of the “Aralap” project is that it is not limited to landscaping activities alone, but seeks to transform the university space into an environmentally sustainable area with preserved biodiversity and strong natural harmony. The measures to be implemented within the project will not only improve the aesthetic appearance of the university grounds, but will also contribute to creating a comfortable, clean, and green environment for students and faculty members. Such initiatives provide a foundation for the rational use of natural resources, the development of green infrastructure, and the strengthening of environmental culture.

This victory at the eco-forum proves that students, by combining education and science, are capable of offering concrete and effective solutions to today’s pressing environmental challenges. Moreover, such achievements increase young people’s interest in science, environmental protection, and socially significant initiatives, while also contributing to the development of their future professional and civic responsibility.

In conclusion, the “Aralap” project, which won within the framework of the “Farabi Green Campus: Taza University” eco-forum, is one of the important initiatives aimed at promoting the principles of sustainable development, protecting nature, and improving the campus environment. This project, presented by students of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, will make a significant contribution in the future to expanding the university’s green area, preserving biodiversity, and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.
