“KazNU Hosts ‘Ұлыстың ұлы күні – Nauryz’ Event within SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions”

Within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal 16 – “Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions,” an event titled “Ulystyn Uly Kuni – Nauryz” was held on March 20, 2026, by third-year students of the Religious Studies educational program under the supervision of senior lecturers N.S. Altayeva and N. Mukan from the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

During the event, organized in celebration of Nauryz, the significance and meaning of this holiday, as well as its role in the cultural and spiritual life of the Kazakh people, were comprehensively explained to the students. Particular emphasis was placed on the promotion of national traditions and customs, highlighting that Nauryz represents a celebration of renewal, unity, harmony, and goodwill. Furthermore, the program included various games, group activities, and discussions. The event concluded with a traditional meal featuring national dishes. It was especially emphasized that Nauryz serves as a unique occasion that fosters social cohesion and strengthens mutual respect and unity within society.
