Movement as a Source of Life: The Role of Sport in Human Health
March 16, 2026, within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG No. 3), an academic and educational event titled “Movement as a Source of Life: The Role of Sport in Human Health” was conducted at S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University. The event focused on the scientific discussion of the significance of physical activity and the role of sport in maintaining and improving human health. Participants examined the effects of regular physical exercise on the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, metabolic processes, and overall physical development of the human body.
Students were divided into groups and presented projects dedicated to various types of sports, including athletics, swimming, team sports, and fitness disciplines. During their presentations, they analyzed the advantages of each activity, explained the principles of selecting appropriate physical нагрузка based on age and fitness level, and identified potential risks associated with non-compliance with safety regulations.
In an interactive discussion format, participants proposed recommendations for promoting an active lifestyle among adolescents. They also discussed the impact of regular training on endurance, work capacity, and emotional well-being. Additionally, issues such as the prevention of physical inactivity (hypodynamia), adherence to daily routines, and the importance of balancing physical activity with adequate rest were addressed.
The event had a positive impact on students’ knowledge in the field of physical education and healthy lifestyles. Participants developed a deeper understanding of the role of regular physical activity and sport in strengthening the immune system, enhancing endurance, and maintaining overall physiological tone.
Furthermore, the event contributed to the development of a conscious attitude toward physical activity, increased awareness of the negative consequences of a sedentary lifestyle, and emphasized the importance of systematic exercise. It also strengthened students’ motivation to engage in sports and adhere to a structured daily routine as essential components of maintaining and improving health.
