Flourishing Department: Planting Flowers and Connecting with Nature

26 march, 2026

With the arrival of spring, a meaningful and educational event was organized at the Department of Information Systems. Young lecturers and students worked together to improve the department’s environment by renewing and planting indoor greenery. This initiative aimed not only to enhance the aesthetic appearance of the academic space but also to foster a caring and responsible attitude toward nature among students.

March symbolizes renewal and revival. In this context, the event contributed to increasing students’ environmental awareness and strengthening their connection with nature. Participants were not only involved in planting flowers but also learned essential plant care practices. Soil replacement, proper watering, and the importance of lighting and regular maintenance were explained and demonstrated in practice. In addition, participants received useful information about different plant species and their characteristics.

During the event, young lecturers Sh. Maksutova, A. Karibayeva, and D. Sandibek actively contributed to the initiative. In addition, Deputy Heads of the Department B. Ilessova and Zh. Duisenbekkyzy, as well as Senior Curator A. Kazhybek, participated in organizing the event and ensured its high-quality implementation. The collaborative effort strengthened mutual support and created a positive and friendly atmosphere. Such initiatives enhance team spirit and strengthen interaction between students and faculty members.

Bakhytgul Ilessova, Deputy for Academic and Educational Affairs, emphasized the importance of this initiative. According to her, “student development is not limited to academic instruction alone. Respecting and caring for nature reflects a person’s culture and sense of responsibility. When people treat nature with care, it, in turn, brings joy through its beauty.”

Such initiatives allow students not only to gain professional knowledge but also to develop essential life values. Environmental awareness, teamwork, and responsibility for shared outcomes are key qualities for future professionals. Moreover, this initiative contributes to developing students’ ecological culture and fostering a conscious attitude toward environmental protection.

The renewed greenery within the department has become more than just a decorative element — it symbolizes unity, care, and collective effort. This initiative will undoubtedly continue and inspire further meaningful activities. Such events clearly demonstrate that education is not limited to knowledge transfer, but also includes the development of values and character.
