Law and the Student: Rights, Responsibilities, and Academic Integrity

On March 26, 2026, international students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies were introduced to the “Code of Honor of Students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.” The event, titled “Law and the Student: Rights, Responsibilities, and Academic Integrity,” was organized by the Department of Chinese Studies.

The purpose of the event was to familiarize students with university regulations, legal norms, and ethical principles, as well as to support their professional and personal development.

During the event, students were informed about key principles, including compliance with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and university regulations, respect for national culture and university traditions, polite and respectful behavior toward fellow students and faculty, adherence to academic integrity (plagiarism, cheating, bribery, and unjustified absences are prohibited), careful use of university property and resources, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and active participation in academic, cultural, and sports activities, refraining from illegal actions and unauthorized protests, and protecting the image and reputation of KazNU.

Students also received information about their rights and responsibilities, as well as discipline and accountability within university life. It was emphasized that preserving the reputation of the university, one’s parents, and one’s own honor is a key responsibility of every student.
