Six students from the University of Tsukuba (HONJO Saki, KAWANO Ryo, NAKAMURA Satoru, TAKANAMI Jumpei, ARAKAWA Ritsuki, and MIZUSHIMA Thomas Gabriel) participated in a multicultural training program held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University from February 18 to March 22, 2026. The program also involved 36 undergraduate students from the host university, and through daily collaborative activities and field research, participants deepened their mutual understanding.

In addition to attending Russian language courses, the students conducted fieldwork at local bazaars in Almaty (such as the Green Bazaar and Barakholka) and participated in off-site research trips to locations including Charyn Canyon and the Tamgaly petroglyphs. They also joined Russian language classes and conversation clubs. Furthermore, a wide range of cultural exchange activities were organized, including presentations on Japanese culture, joint practical sessions on Central Asian cuisine, workshops, and participation in Nauryz cultural events.

Through these activities, the students enhanced their intercultural understanding and practical communication skills, contributing to the further development of academic and cultural exchange. At the end of the program, they conducted group work in English, discussed social issues in Japan and Kazakhstan, and received certificates.
