On March 26, 2026, the Department of Economics of the Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, in partnership with the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service (Department of Real Economy) and the International University of Innovative Technologies of Kyrgyzstan, successfully held the I International Scientific and Methodological Conference on the topic “Modern Trends and Innovative Approaches in Organizing the Educational Process in the Context of Digital Transformation of Education.” The event was held in a hybrid format at the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service and brought together a wide international academic audience.

The conference became an important platform for professional dialogue between representatives of the academic community and practitioners. It was attended by faculty members, doctoral students, independent researchers, master’s students, undergraduate students, as well as employers, which ensured an interdisciplinary and practice-oriented nature of the discussions.

During the conference, актуal issues of transforming the educational process in the context of digitalization were discussed. Special attention was paid to the implementation of modern pedagogical technologies in teaching economic disciplines, including interactive teaching methods, case studies, elements of dual education, and the credit-modular system. Participants emphasized the importance of developing practice-oriented competencies through cooperation with the business community, preparation of startup projects and business plans, and the development of analytical and critical thinking among students.

A separate block of discussions was devoted to methodological approaches to teaching disciplines in the field of services and service management. Integrated learning models in tourism, logistics, and trade, the use of simulation technologies and business games, as well as modern criteria for developing professional competencies in a rapidly changing economy were considered.

The plenary session was opened with welcoming speeches by T.S. Sharipova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service; Zh.Zh. Yermekova, Dean of the Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University; G.M. Shodieva, Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service; and G.R. Dauliyeva, Head of the Department of Economics of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Within the plenary session, a report entitled “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in the Educational Process” was presented, highlighting the prospects of integrating artificial intelligence technologies into the educational environment and their impact on improving the quality of specialist training.

The conference demonstrated a high level of scientific and methodological discussion and the relevance of the issues considered. Participants noted the importance of such events for developing international cooperation, exchanging best practices, and formulating effective solutions in the field of education.

The organizers expressed confidence that the conference will become a sustainable international platform for further meaningful dialogue, generation of innovative ideas, and promotion of modern educational initiatives aimed at improving the quality and competitiveness of education in the context of global digital transformation.
