Goals of charity and sustainable development: a friendly student Initiative
Charity is one of the most noble and significant qualities of a human being. It stems from kindness and compassion that reside in every person’s heart. Helping people who find themselves in difficult life situations is an important manifestation of society’s moral values. Through charity, people show care for one another, creating an atmosphere of kindness, mutual understanding, and unity. Such good deeds strengthen social ties and promote a culture of mutual assistance. Charity is not limited to material support—it also includes moral assistance, attention, and empathy, which are especially important for those facing difficult circumstances.
In order to promote humanity and compassion, as well as within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals—SDG 1 “No Poverty” and SDG 3 “Good Health and Well-being,” Associate Professor of the Department of Finance and Accounting, Candidate of Economic Sciences Aizhan Sarsenovna Assilova organized a charity event. The main purpose of this event was not only to provide assistance to those in need but also to develop such qualities in students as responsibility, humanity, initiative, and social engagement. Such initiatives play an important role in shaping proper life values and moral principles among young people.
Second-year students of the “Finance” educational program (Kazakh department) actively participated in the charity campaign. They enthusiastically supported the initiative and took part in organizing the event. The students provided assistance to a single mother raising two young children. A fundraising campaign was organized to support the family facing difficult life circumstances. This became a vivid example of unity, responsibility, and compassion among modern youth.
In addition, the students purchased food products and essential goods. The assistance provided became a significant support for the family. Even small help can significantly change a person’s life, giving them confidence and hope for a better future. Such actions demonstrate that the values of kindness, mercy, and mutual assistance are preserved in society. They also contribute to the development of social responsibility and an active civic position among students.
This event was aimed not only at providing material assistance but also at fostering moral qualities among young people. By participating in such initiatives, students begin to realize the importance of caring about societal issues and the value of helping others. They learn to be helpful, responsive, and active members of society who can contribute to its development.
After the event, students shared their impressions. They noted that participation in charity activities brings sincere joy and satisfaction. Some expressed a desire to continue engaging in charitable work in the future and to create their own social projects and initiatives. This indicates the formation of a conscious civic position and high social responsibility among youth.
Thus, charity is a fundamental value that contributes to the development of a humane, just, and cohesive society. Doing good is the work of a big and open heart.
