In accordance with SDG 17 “Partnerships for Sustainable Development,” on March 26, 2026, an open educational session titled “Nauryz: Dialogue of Cultures” was organized by Leyla Mekebayeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory.
The main purpose of the event was to provide students with a deeper understanding of the cultural and spiritual significance of the Наурыз мейрамы holiday, to strengthen mutual respect and understanding among different cultures, and to highlight the importance of partnerships in achieving sustainable development goals.

During the session, students emphasized that Nauryz is not only a national value but also an important spiritual bridge that unites various ethnic groups and cultures. By comparing spring celebrations of different nations, participants discussed their shared values such as renewal, harmony, unity, and peace.
The event was conducted in an interactive format, where students were divided into several groups and presented the traditions of celebrating Nauryz in different cultures. Each group provided informative presentations including historical facts and cultural features, using performances, traditional dishes, and customs. In addition, participants discussed the role of international cooperation in achieving sustainable development goals and demonstrated, through concrete examples, the importance of partnerships in education, culture, and social spheres.
At the end of the event, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor L.A. Mekebayeva highly appreciated the students’ preparation and activity, emphasizing the importance of such educational events in shaping future professionals. The educational session “Nauryz: Dialogue of Cultures” not only broadened students’ cultural horizons but also contributed to the development of their global thinking, respect for cultural diversity, and understanding of the importance of partnerships for sustainable development.
