Future Dentists Discuss the Importance of Safe Water

On March 30, 2026, an educational event dedicated to World Water Day was held at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Care of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, at the Department of Fundamental Medicine, in accordance with Sustainable Development Goal No. 6 “Clean Water and Sanitation.” The event was conducted by Kulzhebayeva Sabina Renatovna with second-year students of groups 24-01 and 24-02 of the Dentistry program (Russian- and English-medium groups).
During the discussion, current environmental issues, possible solutions, as well as the role of medical professionals in promoting sanitary and hygienic culture among the population and in the prevention of waterborne diseases were considered.
As a result of the event, students demonstrated a high level of preparation and interest in the topic, actively participated in the discussion, and concluded that ensuring access to safe water and careful use of water resources are key factors in maintaining public health and achieving sustainable development.
