The Department of Surgery conducted a master class with international participation

As part of the development of international cooperation in oncology in Kazakhstan, representatives of the German company Epitype GmbH, specializing in epigenetic cancer diagnostics, visited the country.

Dr. Alfred Hensel arrived from Germany as an expert and conducted a master class attended by oncologists, gynecologists, screening specialists, as well as interns and residents.

The initiative for cooperation was led by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Department of Surgery, headed by Tazhibayeva Karlagash Narbayevna (PhD, MD, Associate Professor).

During the visit, modern screening tests were presented at the university base and at the Almaty Regional Multidisciplinary Clinic.

The GynTect and ScreenYu Gyn tests enable rapid and accurate detection of epigenetic markers of cervical cancer.

The master class provided participants with new knowledge and practical skills that will be applied to improve diagnostics and early detection of cervical cancer in clinical practice in Kazakhstan.
