Promising areas of research on the heritage of the Jochi Ulus have been identified

An expanded meeting on the topic "Promising areas of research on the historical and cultural heritage of the Jochi Ulus" was held at the Gylym Ordasy.

The event was held as part of the implementation of scientific initiatives aimed at a systematic and comprehensive study of the historical and cultural heritage of the Jochi Ulus.

The expanded meeting was attended by President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akylbek Kurishbayev, Moderator of the meeting, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev, leading academics and representatives of research organizations, as well as domestic experts studying the history of the Jochi Ulus - historians, archaeologists, orientalists, source scientists and paleontologists.

During the meeting, a congratulatory letter from Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva was read out. It said: "Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attaches special importance to the systematic and comprehensive study of the historical and cultural heritage of the Jochi Ulus. The scientific implementation of these initiatives will make it possible to supplement Russian history with new data and determine its place in world historiography. In this regard, I consider today's meeting to be an important step dictated by the demands of the times". President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akylbek Kurishbayev stressed the importance of bringing research on the historical and cultural heritage of Jochi Ulus to a new scientific level.

"The National Academy of Sciences has developed a number of proposals for studying the historical and cultural heritage of the Jochi Ulus. First, it is necessary to create a national-level working group. Today, scientific research on the Jochi Ulus is conducted in various institutions and organizations. Therefore, it is important to combine and systematize the work carried out. Secondly, it is necessary to ensure the digitalization of historical heritage and create a modern digital research infrastructure based on artificial intelligence. Thirdly, it is necessary to identify promising scientific areas for the study of the historical and cultural heritage of the Jochi Ulus and include them in the list of priority specialized scientific areas",- said the President of the Academy.

In turn, Zhanseit Tuimebayev stressed the importance of identifying new methodological approaches to the study of the historical heritage of the Jochi Ulus.

"It is necessary to comprehensively study the public administration system of the Jochi Ulus, its diplomatic experience, economic structure, as well as its intellectual and spiritual heritage. The President instructed to abandon the limited military-political approach to the history of the Golden Horde and consider it within the framework of a broad civilizational paradigm. The purpose of today's extended meeting is to summarize the accumulated experience and jointly identify priority areas of research for the coming period. Only a comprehensive study of the rich intellectual and spiritual traditions of the Jochi Ulus, effective public administration institutions and a developed economic system will allow for a deeper understanding of the origins of statehood, identity formation processes and the common history of the peoples of Central Eurasia",- Zhanseit Tuimebayev said.

As a result of the event, proposals were developed to identify promising scientific areas in the field of studying the historical and cultural heritage of Jochi Ulus, coordinating scientific projects, creating a digital research infrastructure and expanding international scientific cooperation.

In addition, the issues of strengthening the interaction between scientific projects implemented in the framework of the study of the Jochi Ulus, as well as the formation of long-term scientific programs, were considered.
