Confucius Institute Day
On September 24 the Confucius Institute at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a ceremony in honor of the World Day of Confucius Institutes.
Celebration of the World Day of Confucius Institute at the University has become a tradition, which includes the format of activities aimed at understanding the Kazakh and Chinese students, to enhance cooperation in the field of education.
Confucius Institute at Kazakh National University is the leading center of excellence in the Chinese language in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Institute is making a major contribution to bring to the study of a foreign language talented young people, improve the quality of teaching, the development of cross-cultural communication and close cooperation with Chinese universities.
In the framework of the event was held a round table on "Chinese in Almaty universities: Status and Challenges". Experts discussed the issues concerning language teaching methods and provision of the universities teaching materials. Teachers of the Department of Chinese Studies pointed out the problems and shared their experience with colleagues from other universities. Also, various master classes on calligraphy, carving paper were carried out, as well as Tai Chi. Students of the Department of Chinese Studies took an active part in the ongoing educational, cultural and educational events.
The celebration was attended by representatives of the Consulate General of China in Almaty, foreign visitors from China, Romania and Macedonia, as well as teachers and students of the Department of Chinese Studies and other institutions of higher education, which are teach Chinese language.
