2016 National Students’ Forum will be hold

NATO Resource and Information Centre, Centre for EuroAtlantic Security and Cooperation Studies and «M.I.R. NATO» Student Association announces 2016 National Students’ Forum  «NATO - Central Asia cooperation in countering dissemination of extremist ideology among youth».

NATO model is international students’ movement and educational project integrated into study process involving thousands of students around the World.

Cooperation with NATO is an important element of Kazakhstan’s Foreign and Security policy. Kazakhstan cooperates with NATO on wide range of issues within frames of «Partnership for Peace» Program and Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC). In the course of better understanding NATO’s role and Kazakhstan-NATO Partnership we call students to take part in NATO mini-model.

2016 NATO Mini-model program includes opening ceremony, role-play sessions and closing ceremony with awarding certificates. Game-sessions will be held in the form of simulation of North Atlantic Council and Military Committee meetings. It would help participants to learn aspects of NATO-Central Asia cooperation, regional security problems, problem of extremism in the region. Through representation of NATO member-states position or positions of NATO partner-states in Central Asia students will have an opportunity to develop personal view on Global and Regional security systems, International cooperation and conflict prevention. The Forum provides great opportunities to gain and practice professional skills in parliamentary procedures of discussion and decision-making. Also, mini-model helps students to develop skills in organization of international forums, discussion with international experts and practice in Diplomatic Protocol and Etiquette.

2016 NATO Mini-Model will gather more than 70 students from Higher Euducation Institutions of Almaty, including Al-Farabi KazNU, Military Institute of Ground Forces, Kazakh-German University, Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages and many others.

International experts will be from Academicians and Diplomatic Corps representatives from NATO member-countries.
