The Center for Tajik Language and Culture has opened at the Faculty of Oriental Studies
September 30, 2019 at the Department of Middle East and South Asia, Faculty of Oriental Studies, the grand opening of the Center for Tajik Language and Culture took place.
The organizers were the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Consulate General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Almaty. The Center’s official opening was attended by the Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Almaty, Bahodur Nazir, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, T.S.Ramazanov, Director of the UN Information Department, Vlastemil Samik, Russia E.P. Bobrov, Consul General of Uzbekistan in Almaty, A.D. Fathullaev, and the deputy head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, M. Nurmaganbetov, teachers, students, guests, etc.
The students of Iranian Studies Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies read poems in Persian by classics of Persian-Tajik literature Rudaki, Ferdousi, Moulawi, Omar Khayyam, Saadi, Hafez, a concert was also organized by student talents.
The Center for Tajik Language and Culture is equipped by the Consulate General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Almaty. Among the gifts to the Center were books on Tajik literature, portraits of medieval Persian-Tajik classic poets.
Kazakh-Tajik relations have a long history. Peace and friendship are the traditional basis for relations between our peoples and cultures. Since ancient times, the Kazakh and Tajik peoples have shown interest in each other's spiritual heritage. The opening of the Tajik Center will contribute to the development of Kazakhstani Tajik studies as an integral part of Iranian studies. Tajiks are one of the most ancient peoples of the East and the study of their beautiful language, rich history and distinctive culture will significantly enrich Kazakhstani oriental studies.
