Written monuments in the National Library

    The Faculty of Oriental Studies of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University together with the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture “Nur-Mubarak” organized a round table on the topic “ Kazakh-Arab relations in the written heritage ”. The cultural event was held on November 21, 2019 at the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

    A welcoming speech was delivered by the scientific secretary of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bolat Zhunusbekov. The scientific secretary noted that within the framework of the state programs “Cultural Heritage”, “People in the Stream of History”, “Seven Facets of the Great Steppe”, archival documents of scientific and historical value relating to the history of the country and are being searched in foreign archives and foreign scientific institutions and noted the importance of holding a round table "Kazakh-Arab relations in the written heritage." The moderator of the round table was the dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University PhD Paltore Yktiyar Moldatoreuly.

   The event was attended by Abdullah Ibrahim al-Hokil, Mahmoud ibn Abdullah ibn Abdul Aziz al-Mahmoud and Abd al-Rahman ibn Raji Allah Ibn Tifan al-Sulami, professors of the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Center for Arabic Language and highlighted the cooperation between the two countries.

   Within the framework of the round table, an exhibition of the same name, “Kazakh-Arab Relations in the Written Heritage”, was organized at the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

   The event was attended by teachers of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi KazNU and Abylay Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, teachers and students of Nur-Mubarak University, library staff and readers.
