Al-Farabi KazNU and King Saud University (KSU) (Saudi Arabia) will sign a cooperation agreement. This decision was made during a meeting of the KazNU leadership with a delegation from Saudi Arabia headed by Nasse Muhammed Al-Aqeeli, Deputy Minister of Science and Innovation.

Welcoming the guests, Rector of KazNU academician Galym Mutanov highlighted the friendly relations of the two countries, which contribute to the implementation of joint projects in the economy, science and education. «In the age of globalization, introduction of new technologies contributes to the rapid growth and acceleration of the process of successful development of the state and society. Cooperation in the field of science and education is important for everyone. Universities, jointly exploring and discovering new directions in science and technology, will be able to achieve great results», said the Rector of KazNU.

In turn, the delegation of Saudi Arabia noted the importance and activity of KazNU, which is the best University in the Islamic world.

The guests showed interest in the Supercomputer and the International IT Technology Park of the University Alliance of the Silk Road, which is being implemented under the University 4.0 model jointly with the UN Alliance of Civilizations.

It should be noted that the IT-Technology Park and the Center for Supercomputer and Cloud Computing, that are created according to the Silicon Valley model, will be located in the High-Tech Zone of KazNU.

Considering common interests, it was decided to establish a working group of two Universities for a detailed discussion of the direction of cooperation with the subsequent signing of the memorandum. As Saudi Arabia emphasized, this document will accelerate the process of collaboration between the HEIs.

The parties also expressed mutual interest in implementing joint scientific and innovative projects in the field of IT, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Nanotechnology.
