ACM ICPC - WORLD STUDENT TEAM PROGRAMMING CHAMPIONSHIP
The KBTU Faculty of Information Technologies organized a significant event of the year - the semi-final of the International Programming Olympiad ACM ICPC - the World Programming Championship among student teams. (https://icpc.baylor.edu)
December 1, 2019 simultaneously in 4 cities (St. Petersburg, Barnaul, Almaty, Tbilisi) will host the final round of the international programming Olympiad among student teams in the Northern Eurasia region (http://neerc.ifmo.ru). The Almaty tour for the fourth year will be held at the Kazakh-British Technical University. The program of the Olympiad is presented on the page http://icpc.acm.kz.
In the era of digitalization of all aspects of life that is going on around the world, such large-scale intellectual competitions become especially important for young people, including in Kazakhstan, where 2019 is declared the year of youth.
The Northern Eurasia region includes university teams from almost all CIS countries (with the exception of Ukraine and Moldova). About 300 teams are expected to participate in the qualifying competitions in their subregions in October-November 2019. About 80 teams from Kazakhstan (40), Kyrgyzstan (15), Uzbekistan (20) and Tajikistan (5) will perform in Almaty. (For information: 60 teams participated in the semi-final of 2018.) The tour at the same time in 4 cities is associated with the wide geography of the participating countries. The semifinal on December 1 in Almaty is also the final of the Central Asian Championship.
Following the results of the semi-finals, the 17 best teams will reach the final of the ACM ICPC World Programming Championship, which will be held in June 2020 in Russia. The strongest student teams from 140 universities of the world will take part in it.
