The National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan, National Esports Student Association, and Qazaq Cybersport Federation have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
The main objectives of cooperation between the parties are the support and development of student cybersports in Kazakhstan as part of the international sports movement, promotion of sports and information culture, establishing partnerships with domestic and foreign universities, implementation of joint projects in the field of cybersports.
Within the framework of cooperation for 2020-2021, the parties identified the creation and development of the Kazakhstani Student Cyber Sports League as the priority task. The establishment of the league is a great step in the development of cybersports in Kazakhstan, which will give a system-forming impetus to the development of this movement in Kazakhstan and will open up many young talents. The activity of the League is directed at organization and holding of tournaments on cybersports disciplines among students of higher education institutions, assistance in the popularization of cybersports, and development of its types.
In October 2020, the first season of the Student League started, and altogether it will consist of four seasons. It will bring together teams from seven member universities of the National Association of Student Cyber Sport, including the team of Al-Farabi KazNU, and the prize fund of the season will be 1 million tenge.
