On May 7, 2021, a beach volleyball tournament dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Olzhas Suleimenov started.

The sporting event is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the outstanding poet and public figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Suleimenov.

The organizers were KazNU named after al-Farabi, VC "Burevestnik-Almaty" with the support of the Akimat and the Volleyball Federation of Almaty. More than 63 amateur me's, wome's and mixed teams in age categories up to 60 years old from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and different regions of the country gathered on the sports ground.
