Meeting with Professor Daniel D. Snow
On November 9, 2021, at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a meeting was held with a professor of the Water Research Laboratory, head of the Water for Food Center at the University of Nebraska (Lincoln. USA), PhD Daniel D. Snow.
The professor spoke about the University of Nebraska, about his activities and research at the University's research centers. Snow has been an integral part of the Water Sciences Laboratory since 1990. A significant part of his work includes water quality studies in Nebraska, USA, as well as in Central Asia. Snow also participates in the development of methods for the determination of toxicants in natural waters, the use of stable isotopes as indicators for the study of environmental problems and processes, and much mor Students and staff at the University of Nebraska, led by Dr. Snow, are using mass spectrometers to help other scientists and engineers determine exactly what chemicals are contained in water and other materials. Snow also advises and mentors a growing number of undergraduate and graduate students in the United States and the world.
During his visit to the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management of Al-Farabi KaNU, Daniel D. Snow gave recommendations to undergraduates and doctoral students regarding the correct choice of research direction, steps to achieve the goal, as well as requirements for the content and design of articles for foreign peer-reviewed scientific journals.
