The Department of the Far East of the Faculty of Oriental Studies will host a week of the Department of Japanese Studies.
The purpose of the event is to increase the level of knowledge and competencies in the field of Japanese studies, to get acquainted with the specifics of Japanese culture. Students will be given the opportunity to get acquainted with the history, traditions, customs and other aspects of Japanese culture.
On March 7, there will be a master class of Japanese cuisine. Students of the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies will talk about the national Japanese cuisine, and together with the students of the Department of Japanese Studies they will cook onigiri.
On March 8-9, a symposium will be held with students from the University of Tokyo.
On March 10, a student of Waseda University will introduce the intricacies of the tea ceremony.
On March 11, the teacher of the department Borankulova S.K. show how to properly wear traditional Japanese clothing - kimono.
On March 12, the traditional Kazakhstan competition of oratory in Japanese will be held.
