This year the championship is timed to the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence. The event is being implemented as part of the development of the Digital Kazakhstan and Rukhani Zhagyru programs. The organizers were: Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation, Eurasian Technological University and TMK Development Group with the support of the Akimat of Almaty.
The goal of the project is to provide young talented Kazakhstanis with modern knowledge and skills for further realizing their potential in the field of new technologies and robotics, whether it is creating start-ups, developing innovative solutions, programming, engineering.
Vice-Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kuanysh Ergaliev congratulated the participants on the significant event, who emphasized that ETU Robocon 2021 is aimed at supporting and developing interest in robotics among young people.
Deputy Akim of Almaty Yerzhan Babakumarov, having greeted the contestants, stressed: “I am sure that Robocon 2021 will open up new opportunities for you for professional growth, communication, creativity. The championship can be seen as a training session for future competition in the global technology markets. ”
15 student teams from Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Kyzylorda, Pavlodar, Oskemen and Almaty region took part in the competition.
KazNU named after Al-Farabi was presented by a team of students of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, specialty "robotic systems" "TechnoRIM", which included: team leader Bekzat Amanov, team captain Yernar Zholdasov (3rd year of doctoral studies), Berik Sagitzhanov (2nd year of doctoral studies) , Zamanbek Azil (1st year of magistracy), Bauyrzhan (4th year), Damir Zhagabergen (4th year), Nursultan Erbolat (4th year), Madiyar Smamkozhaev (4th year).
The guys tried very hard, put all their talent, imagination and ingenuity into their competition project and managed to achieve success.

More than 150 participants - 15 teams from 6 regions of Kazakhstan took part in the ETU Robocon 2021 championship.
