COOPERATION WITH MARMARA UNIVERSITY IS ACTIVATED
A delegation from Marmara University arrived at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Parties discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation between universities.
Specially arrived guests visited the KazNU museum, where they got acquainted with the history of the university.
The delegation included Vice-Rectors of Marmara University Mustafa Chelen and Hassan Korkyt, Secretary General Murat Arisal and Director General of the Department of International Relations and Academic Cooperation Nuri Tinaz.
Vice-Rector of Marmara University Mustafa Chelen expressed appreciation for the special hospitality. In addition, the guest of honor spoke about the activities of Marmara University and shared further development plans.
The member of the Board of KazNU, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities Haidar Tasibekov informed the delegation about the work and achievements of the university. He noted that today KazNU has embarked upon the course to transform into a world-class research university.
This year KazNU has once again has proved its global competitiveness, rising 25 lines up and ranked 150th in the international QS ranking. In the framework of official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Turkey and the Kyrgyz Republic, branches of KazNU were established in Istanbul and Bishkek. Currently KazNU cooperates with more than 500 of the best universities in the world. In particular, the Vice-rector noted the close cooperation with Turkish universities. Moreover, the TÜRKSOY center is successfully functioning in KazNU, which intends to strengthen work in the direction of international cooperation.
During the meeting, the issues of implementing joint projects aimed at strengthening science and academic mobility within the framework of the Erasmus Mundus program were discussed.
As a result, the parties agreed to cement cooperation within the framework of the signed Memorandum of Understanding between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Marmara University.
