BAKYTZHAN ZHUMAGULOV: "ALMA MATER GAVE US A GREAT START"
Deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Academician Bakytzhan Zhumagulov met with the teaching staff, doctoral students and undergraduates at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The Guest of honor was introduced by the Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev, focusing on the main stages of his life and professional path.
Bakytzhan Zhumagulov is an alumnus of KazNU, who graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Applied Mathematics in 1979. He began his career with scientific and teaching activities, starting from the position of assistant, professor, Head of the department to the rector. Today he is a Doctor of Technical Sciences and academician of the following institutions: National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the International Engineering Academy, National Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"A well-known individual who made a great contribution to the formation of the country's independence is still connected with his native university. Such meetings, which have become traditional at our university, are vastly important for our youth" the rector noted.
Academician Bakytzhan Zhumagulov, in turn, recalled with nostalgia the years of study and work at the university. He thanked KazNU and its professors for all the achievements on the path of life. "Alma mater gave us a great start in life. Here, thanks to our teachers, we took the first step. I am always grateful to the university," Bakytzhan Tursynovich stated. He spoke about the adopted legislative documents and the work done to support domestic universities. The academician shared his opinion about the upcoming tasks that Kazakhstani universities face nowadays.
The speaker also highlighted the importance of national values, urged young people to work hard, to constantly gain knowledge. At the end of the meeting, the lecturer answered questions from the audience and presented the book "The Human Factor" to the Al-Farabi library.
