Collaboration, research and projects: International Workshop "The cultural context of Kazakhstan and Central Asia in the practice of social work"

Dr. Hok Bun KU and Dr. Yip Sui Kan are representatives of the Department of Applied Social Sciences, with which the Department of Sociology and Social Work of al-Farabi Kazakh National University has successfully and systematically cooperating. As part of the visit, the leading organizations of social services in Kazakhstan were visited, the experience of which is unique and interesting to the community of practitioners and researchers: the private orphanage "Kovcheg", the Mother's House of the Charity Foundation "Ana Uyi" and the Association of Parents of Children with Disabilities (ARDI).

     In July of this year, a collaborative practice research project of the departments began. The aim of the project is to create and promote models of social work practice, academic and professional exchange between social work educators and practitioners in Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, China and Central Asia.
