KAZNU PARTICIPATED IN THE ECOSTUDENTKZ CHALLENGE
Students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University supported the republican EcoStudentKZ challenge. As part of the environmental campaign on October 8, about 200 young people took part in the work of cleaning up popular tourist places from garbage, in particular, the Kok Zhailau plateau and the Butakovsky Gorge.
The students took the useful initiative with great enthusiasm. Kalan Tannur, second-year student of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics shared his view: “On Saturday, having supported the republican EcoStudentKZ project, we went to the clean-up in the Butakovsky gorge. There we collected the scattered garbage and harmful waste. I think that KazNU students, together with the youth of Almaty and the mayor of the city have done a great job. I urge all residents of the city to keep cleaning the surroundings”.
Almazbek Timur, a third year student of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management of KazNU, visited the Kok Zhailau tract during a clean-up day. "I wish that there would be more such projects in the future, as long as it has a very good effect on the formation of ecological culture among young people. Nature is our mother, we must preserve it," - Almabek commented.
As part of the environmental campaign, a clean-up day was held on the campus of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on that day. The number of people was more than 4,000 in total.
Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev personally inspected the course of the clean-up and wished the youth fruitful work. About 10 units of special equipment were involved in the activity. As a result of close-knit work, 80 cubic meters of garbage and foliage were collected.
