Dear colleagues!

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University invites you to take part in the international scientific and practical conference «ROLE OF DIPLOMACY IN THE AGE OF GEOPOLITICAL TURBULENCE», which will be held on November 25, 2022.

The conference is dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the outstanding statesman and public figure, the first Kazakh professional diplomat Nazir Torekulov. Namely, his contribution and legacy served as a beginning of the modern diplomacy in Kazakhstan.

The purpose of this conference is to discuss, analyze and critically reflect on the achievements, challenges and prospects of the diplomacy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in an era of geopolitical change, as well as to evaluate the activities and life path, experience of the outstanding Kazakh professional diplomat Nazir Torekulov.

As President of Kazakhstan K. Tokayev notes, «... The modern world is entering a new period of growing geopolitical confrontation. A long-established international system based on order and responsibility is giving up a position in the face of chaos and unpredictability. The global system of checks and balances is experiencing harsh time in maintaining peace and stability...». In this regard, the role and importance of diplomacy is growing in addressing the global and regional cross-border challenges of the 21st century, which have a scientific dimension and require the unification of the efforts of states based on their political, economic, information and communication, scientific and technological potential.

The position of Kazakhstan on topical issues of modern international relations requires scientific understanding and the search for constructive answers from the expert community.

The conference work will be held in the following areas:

Official languages of the conference: Kazakh, Russian, English

We ask you to confirm your participation in the international scientific and practical conference by November 8, 2022, by sending the title of the report, by November 22 - the full text of the report. Based on the results of the participants' presentations, it is planned to PUBLISH A CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS.

Guidelines for Conference Papers:

The text of the report is 6-10 pages, text in WORD format, Times New Roman font (font size - 14, line spacing - 1.0, margins on all sides - 2 cm, paragraph indentation - 1 cm). The report submitted to the conference should disclose the relevance and results of scientific research, practical significance.

Section meetings are held at the Faculty of International Relations of al-Farabi Kazakh National University, conference hall, No. 200, No. 216 at the address: Almaty, Karasai batyr st., 95A.
