KAZNU IS READY TO ACCEPT THE PROPOSAL OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA

As a result of the meeting with the representative of the Penn State Law of the University of Pennsylvania, a number of cooperation agreements were reached, opening up great opportunities for the implementation of joint projects in the field of higher education and science.

Associate Dean of the Penn State Law of the University of Pennsylvania (USA) Mr. Stephen Barnes met with Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev.

The guest of honor highly appreciated the educational level of the university, which trains the best students. Consequently, a number of agreements were reached that open up new prospects for students and scientists of KazNU.

In particular, in April 2023 Mr. Barnes as an invited foreign scientist will conduct an initial ten-day course “Introduction to U.S. Legal Systems”. In the following years, similar involvement of foreign scientists from among the professors of the Penn State Law (School of International Relations) is planned.

The students with high performance and graduates of KazNU will be able to study under the scholarship program "Master of Law" at Penn State Law. For this purpose 11 grants have been allocated for training in various programs worth 35, 000 to 54, 000 USD.

In addition, American colleagues provide two places for exchange students for the fall semester of 2023 worth up to 54,000 USD, positions of visiting researchers for professors of KazNU, as well as the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOU) for a five-year term.

Penn State University is one of the largest universities in the USA that teaches over 100 thousand students. For many years the institution maintains the status of one of the best American public universities in the top 100 universities, according to QS World University Rankings 2023.

The initial investments of the Penn State Law are estimated at 668,000 USD and are dedicated to students and graduates of KazNU who have distinguished themselves in the academic community of the University of Pennsylvania.
