KAZNU STUDENTS BECOME PRIZE-WINNERS IN WORLD SPORTS COMPETITIONS
Students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University occupied top places in world sports competitions.
At the recent World Championships in Pontevedra (Spain), 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare of KazNU Asyl Aitakyn won a bronze medal in freestyle wrestling. The athlete competed in the category up to 61 kg. Last year he took part in the World Championship in Belgrade and became a bronze medalist.
Konstantin Malinovsky, a 2nd-year master's student of the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare, took part in the Asian Air Rifle Shooting Championship, which took place on November 11 in Daegu (South Korea) and won a bronze medal. In this sports competition, he competed as part of the national team of Kazakhstan with athletes from Kuwait, India, Mongolia, Korea and Bangladesh. As a result, the national team won the silver medal, scoring a total of 11 out of 17 points.
A student of the Faculty of Law of KazNU Abiba Abuzhakynova won a bronze medal at the Grand Slam judo tournament in Abu Dhabi. In addition, she is the bronze medalist of the 2022 World Championship in Tashkent. Abiba is the first Kazakh girl to become a prize–winner of the World Judo Championship. The talented athlete won the title of national champion in 2021. Abiba is a student of the school of higher sports skills, as well as a silver medalist of the European Cup, two–time silver medalist of the Asian Championship, winner of the Asian Cup.
